Sometimes it feels like I am writing into a soundless abyss. I always have so much to say, and everyone and no one to say it to.

Is this in regards to the blog or your academic work?
Oh, both. Both are pretty frustrating at the moment, but the academic stuff is what’s stressin’ me.
Little bit of writer’s block or are you trying to find your academic niche? I would imagine that your work is a pretty hot topic in literature. (Have you experienced the “pleasure” of a referee report yet?)
I’d say your feelings are pretty much par for the course. I often feel the same about my work - lots of time and effort go into it but it seems like nobody is listening even though my hypothetical audience is quite large. And if you feel that way about publishing, sympathize with me when I say I’ve had people fall asleep during my talks…bah.
Don’t feel too bad about the blog - you’ve got me, lucky you!
