Just for fun, here is one of the places I wrote about in my Krakauer post. I didn’t include it there because I didn’t want it commingling with all the movie stills and catching some kind of Hollywood cooties.

One of those dogs is mine.

If you could capture freedom & tranquility in a photo, this would be that photo.
And one of those dogs lives with me. I’m not sure he’s mine, though. He’s always refusing to come inside, and we have to alternately bribe him with treats and squirt him with vinegar-water. We’re not bad people!
John: if you see tranquility in that photo, it’s because digital photos can’t yet capture what screaming, drenching wind looks like.
Danimal:
I guess they can’t because it doesn’t look windy, but I’ll take your word on it.
Dogs!
(That’s all I have to say, on behalf of the Society for Blogged Dog Appreciation.)
Danimal - Aw, your dog is just a grumpy teenager. Maybe he just needs some SPACE, man! (Also, re your twitter, were you back there this weekend? JEALOUS!)
John - it was indeed windy, but I still felt somewhat tranquil anyway. (Some pictures from the day, though, are completely obscured by the water blowing sideways into my lens! This one actually turned out well.)
Alexis - YAY, DOGS!
Back there last weekend? You would hate me if you knew how often … any plans to visit Zembla anytime soon?
The weather last weekend was quite reminiscent of last June.
